Growing pains suck. π
Remember when you were a kid and you’d lie in bed at night unable to fall asleep cause your legs hurt? You’d toss & turn, trying to get comfortable but it was hard to find relief. π
While I only grew to be 5’2″ (and I stopped growing in 7th grade lol) I’ve experience a lot of other growing pains the past year and a half and it’s not all been pretty.
In fact, there have been moments that will only stay between me and my shower cause I’m an #uglycryer ππΏ
Here’s what I’ve learned in those seasons that make you want to give up:
β· You’re stronger than you believe you are. π Don’t give in to the lies swirling around in your head. Write them down, talk to a friend, and seek what’s true.
β· Make sure you’re honest with yourself. π It’s easy to let someone else’s idea of success cloud your own judgement. Turn down the voices and get back to WHY you love doing what you do.
β· Share the scars not the wounds. π Go through the battle with trusted people but don’t bare it all on social media until it serves a better purpose.
I think it was BrenΓ© Brown who said “Share what is vulnerable, not what is intimate” and that resonated so much with me! While I won’t tell you what to share/what not to share on social media, for me, I believe it’s better to wait until I’ve recovered a bit so I can use my story of overcoming to encourage, inspire, and help others. β¨
Something tells me that Q4 is going to be another season of growth. π While I’m a little nervous about it, I’m excited to share what I’m learning with you in hopes that it helps lead you forward, too. β€
