The busy signal… 🔊 Remember that sound??

We rarely encounter it nowadays and there are some days that I actually miss it. Why? Because it’s a signal that life is being lived, there’s a world outside of you, and sometimes you have to embrace the fact that you can’t do the thing you want to do in THIS moment. 💣

Slow seasons in business are like that. When you’re in the middle, in the waiting, or when things are slow, your mind tends to wander. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes not so much!

So how do you remain positive when business is slow?

Truth be told I’m continually figuring this one out but here’s what’s helped me:

1) Reflection 💭

I keep a giant sticky note full of wins, big and small, in my office so I can remember all I’ve done and the impact I’ve made. This motivates me to keep going.

2) Innovation 🎨

Sometimes slow periods are when we have our best ideas! Rather than resenting the clear space on your calendar, embrace it as an opportunity to be creative, think outside the box, or connect with someone else.

3) Research 🤓

Everyone loves an underdog story because overnight success stories make us #greenwithenvy. It’s def a character flaw, but we’ve all got em. >>> Spend some time researching all of the incredible people who overcame obstacles, beat the odds, and built their dream life despite all of the challenges along the way.

It’s an annoying analogy, but remember that your business is a marathon and not a sprint. Embrace the slow times and stay positive. 😊
