There are some days where I want to quit motherhood.
Try as I might to get up at 6:20am, spend some quiet time in the Word, take a few sips of coffee while it’s hot, and then get my kids out of the house on time, it RARELY happens as planned.
Someone wakes up early. Someone else doesn’t want to get dressed (okay, its my 3 year old… she never wants to get dressed). And try as I might to get out of the house by 8:10, there are days when it takes me 30 minutes to get everyone in the car.
I’d be lying if I told you there weren’t days I cried into my coffee and thought, “I quit.”
It’s on those days I have to be super intentional about changing my thoughts.
My friend shared this mantra with me the other day and I found it SO powerful
I will respond instead of react.
POW! Doesn’t that hit you right in the heart?
How many things in life could we apply that to?? Certainly in business, marriage, friendships, finances, politics…. the list goes on and on.
When we respond vs react, it makes others feel heard and valued. I feel like our world needs more of that, don’t you?
If you resonated with this post, I think you should give this one a read, too.
