I swear toddlers have a black belt in the art of boundary-crossing!!
YOU SAY: The line is here.
They stand 10 feet away and then 2 feet away. Then a toe goes over. Then a leg…
How to hold boundaries as a parent? Tbh, I’m still figuring it out… but these battles have helped me run a business with HEALTHY BOUNDARIES!!
Struggling to hold healthy boundaries in your business?
Give this a try:
1) Set boundaries before you begin (say them, write them, tell your people)
2) Communicate with your team & clients
3) Honor them yourself
Example: VOXER! (It’s an awesome messaging app that allows my clients to get help, feel supported, and strategize on-the-go.)
MY BOUNDARY: I’m available Monday – Thursday, 9a-5p.
>>> This is in my contract, onboarding info, client portals, etc. >>> I respect my OWN boundary first by not checking the app outside of these hours.
My clients know that if they message me, they won’t hear back until that window of time. They even say things like, “Don’t respond to this til Monday!”
And hey, sometimes boundaries get blurred or straight-up crossed. If that happens, take a breath, be an adult, and kindly remind everyone of how you can work best together.
What boundaries do you already have in place? (Are you holding them?) Where might you need to start placing limits so you can be more present in life, productive in business, and overall physically and emotionally well?
