Did you know that more than 4.4 million new businesses were created in the U.S. last year!!

So many of them are online and/or online-only, which means that business owners today have to be more agile and innovative than ever!

That statistic can immediately evoke feelings of panic and overwhelm because people think “gee, I need to post everywhere all the time to even have a chance of selling my stuff!”

However, the key is to refine your messaging first and then deploy a multimedia strategy where you can leverage tools like email marketing, video, SEO, and Pinterest to connect with and serve your audience.  (I can help with this! Check out my Consulting + Mentorship Programs to see if one might be a good fit for you!)

Notice that I didn’t list Instagram as the first or only place… LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest are still largely underutilized!

How to handle change in 2022

The last few months of the year are a bit tricky for business owners.

We fall into the holiday rush to squeeze in every project or order, yet we also feel a deep desire to slow down, take stock, and reflect in order to move forward.

As you close out the year and look to 2022, I think it’s important to ask yourself what’s lighting you up right now and what’s draining you?

Change is scary but the business that doesn’t innovate will fail. So while it may sound simple, I encourage you to do less of what’s holding you back and more of what’s bringing you joy in 2022.

That may mean reevaluating your products or services, delegating more, or investing in support to make some positive changes. Be patient and trust that the changes you make will set you up for a longer and brighter future!

Heading for burnout? Read this part

So many of my colleagues and clients are feeling burnt out right now! Female-owned brands especially are craving less time on social media, more in-person opportunities, and more time-freedom while still making a great income and impact.

On a personal note, my brand experience agency will be reframing our services to support our clients longer-term which means a better overall client experience, less pressure on us for lead generation, and the space to stay agile in meeting the needs of those we serve.

Harnessing the power of the year-end

Whether you run a brick and mortar or an online business, your brand experience (messaging, stories, visuals, customer experience, etc.) is more important than ever.

Questions for you and your team to answer:

  1. What did we do this past year that went above and beyond?
  2. How can we continue to improve, add more value, and better serve our clients?

The trick is if you can find ways to add even more value without it having to cost you an arm and a leg.

My advice? Refine your customer experience, focus on communication, and don’t be afraid to set healthy boundaries for 2022. You’ll be amazed how those things can transform your business!
